You Don't Need a 10k Month to Be Winning.

Updated: Feb 3

The Six of Wands is a card of pride, accomplishment, and recognition. It’s about success being seen, acknowledged, and celebrated. Traditionally, this card shows a figure riding forward after a victory, surrounded by others who recognise what they’ve achieved.

But here’s the thing many small business owners quietly struggle with…

Who’s actually there to clap for you?

If you’re a female small business owner or sole trader, there’s no team waiting to lift you onto their shoulders or throw you a victory parade. No manager popping champagne when you hit a milestone. No annual awards night unless you organise it yourself.

And if you’re waiting, hoping, or yearning for external praise before you let yourself feel proud — this card gently asks you to reconsider.

February is full of hearts, chocolates, and flowers celebrating romantic love. This month, the Six of Wands invites you to turn some of that appreciation inward and acknowledge what you have already done. Because it’s incredibly easy to keep striving in business without ever stopping to mark the milestones along the way.

I can almost hear the objections already: “I don’t want to brag.” “I haven’t really succeeded yet.” “I haven’t hit a 10k month.” “I’m not where I should be.”

But pause for a moment and ask yourself — is that truly your goal?Or is it internet noise, comparison culture, and societal pressure telling you what success is supposed to look like?

What if success became more personal?

What if it became more micro?

Instead of only celebrating the big, flashy outcomes, what if you acknowledged the smaller, deeply meaningful wins that actually build sustainable progress?

Like:

  • Showing up during a week when everything felt hopeless

  • Attending a networking meeting and speaking to someone new

  • Growing your mailing list, even slightly

  • Covering your bills this month

  • Sending out a proposal

  • Going live on social media despite the nerves

  • Raising your prices

  • Saying no and holding your boundaries

  • Gaining a repeat booking

  • Launching a new product

  • Signing a new client

  • Hitting a personal sales target

  • Exercising when you didn’t feel like it

  • Not checking your phone after hours

  • Learning something new

  • Finishing the boring task you kept avoiding

  • Stepping outside your comfort zone

  • Trying something new, even if it didn’t work perfectly

These are real wins.

They don’t require a funfair, fireworks, or public applause — but they do deserve acknowledgement.

At its core, the Six of Wands isn’t just about victory. It’s about recognising effort. You tried. You stumbled. You failed. You picked yourself up. You tried again. And slowly, it’s paying off. You’ve been in this long enough now to have faced challenges, won some battles, and gathered stories you couldn’t have imagined at the beginning.

Early this month, take a moment to reflect:

  • What do you actually want to achieve right now?

  • Is it realistic for this season of your life?

  • Does it align with your heartfelt vision — or someone else’s expectations?

Get personal. Get micro. Lots of small wins, consistently acknowledged, build into solid, sustainable progress

and you don’t need permission to celebrate them.

You’re allowed to feel proud.

You’ve earned it.
